I’m Judith Romero, a Calgary-based flamenco dancer and teacher, founder of Adela & Tom’s Flamenco. I am passionate about helping other flamencos, including newcomers, feel welcome, capable and celebrated in this art. I received significant in-person training in Seville (2 yrs), and continue my training via online/hybrid from Madrid and New York/Boston. I’ve performed as a rising artist in Greece and Boston, and perform at small venues locally. Originally from Sparwood BC, before flamenco, there was figure skating and piano. I especially enjoy teaching adults and helping people find their artistry with the skill set they currently have!

Adela & Tom’s Flamenco is named after my grandparents, who immigrated to Canada from Spain in the ‘60s. They were NOT flamencos in a formal sense, but they were Andalucians, meaning they were well acquainted with and loved the social forms of the art. My grandma was even asked to sing fandangos in movies!

Adela & Tom’s Flamenco celebrates the type of flamenco casually shared among friends and family. I believe this type of flamenco deepens the flamenco roots in any community.
